Minister for Tourism Harbour Town gears up for record-breaking Christmas season and 2024 major events

Harbour Town, Adelaide’s largest and only premium outlet destination, has hit a significant milestone, notching up a quarter of a billion dollars in sales as it gears up for the biggest retail event of the year, Christmas.

The Centre achieves a quarter of a billion dollars in retail sales annually and attracts more than three million shoppers annually including a significantly higher proportion of interstate and international visitors than other South Australian shopping centres.

Marking its 20th Anniversary of transforming the face of retail shopping in South Australia, Harbour Town’s premium brand focus is key to the Centre achieving $250 million in annual retail sales and its surging popularity.

Harbour Town’s premium labels include Lacoste, Nautica, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, RM Williams, Calvin Klein, Coach, Gap, Ben Sherman, Kate Spade, Oroton, Guess, Boss, TK Maxx, Under Armour, adidas, Peter Alexander, Witchery, Review, Mimco, Ellesse, Nike Unite, Nine West, Seed, Lorna Jane and The Cosmetics Company Store.

The Centre has recorded a 12 per cent increase in the number of shoppers compared to last year, with some retailers already notching up their ‘biggest ever’ pre-Christmas trading days.

The Centre is a core asset of Australia’s oldest and leading private property developer, Lewis Land Group. With 120 stores, South Australia’s largest and only premium outlet shopping centre destination is proudly a major employment hub, providing 1500 local jobs.

Harbour Town is set to undergo exciting development works in 2024, with a new multi-million-dollar modern dining precinct known as Harbour Town Eats set to create 50 jobs. Mirrored on the hugely successful Harbour Town Eats concept on the Gold Coast the Centre’s new food area will offer popular national brands serving globally inspired flavours and dishes, cafes and healthy options to suit a wide variety of tastes and budgets.

The centre recorded a notable spike of up to 20 per cent in the number of people visiting Harbour Town during Adelaide’s additional major events, including the inaugural AFL Gather Round and LIV Golf Tournament.

Car parking is free at the centre.

Adelaide is preparing for the biggest retail event of the year at Harbour Town; a traditionally great place for shoppers who want to enjoy incredible savings while they shop for their loved ones.

As the centre is celebrating 20 years in operation, it is also preparing for a packed 2024 events calendar that is expected to attract thousands of people to the city and surrounding suburbs.

Due to its reputation, its close proximity to the Adelaide Airport and a short drive from the CBD, travellers appear to always stop by Harbour Town and take advantage of the multi-award-winning Tourism Guest Lounge where they can collect their Tourism Discount Shopping Card, enjoy free Wi-Fi, luggage and shopping locker storage.

Visitors really love this space to start their holiday in SA or recharge before their next flight.

I am also very excited to see Harbour Town Eats come to life; an incredible relaxed dining experience with weather protection which will complement the nature-inspired design and unique outdoor shopping experience that Harbour Town is renowned for.

There’s an increasing appetite to shop smarter and move away from accepting that you have to pay full price for quality and leading brand items across fashion, athleisure and homewares.
